| Pour les amateurs d'art un peu "barrer" je vous conseil cette expo : - Citation :
- from Sat, 15th until Wed, 30th > For the opening show of 'Shine Art Space', we are drawing our attentions on those artists who were born and grew up during the 60s and 70s.These artists, as expected, have reflected their individualities in their works, and the differences are clearly visible when comparing them to their predecessors. They have made a different approach to art and one may wonder if these creations could be the catalyst to bring out the inner most potential of Chinese paintings. Participant Artists: Feng Zhengjie, Guo Jin, Mao Tongqiang, Guo Wei, Shen Xiaotong, Zhang Xiaotao, Shi Xinning, Zhong Biao, Chen Wenbo, Zhao Nengzhi.
Guo Wei and Guo Jin have both been devoting themselves to the subject matter of ¡®children¡¯. Their similarities being that they both stand by the principles of Chinese figurative style of paintings, and are both seeking that long lost feel of innocence. The prior used mature techniques and simple colours and the latter employed vibrant colours to deliver his passion for art. Zhong Biao is a modern realist. His works are often merging in and out of the present and the future using photograph like pictures. In addition, Zhong Biao is also a highly talented story teller who uses metaphors in his private life to express his views on current affairs. Feng Zhengjie employed a porcelain like quality on his characters with bizarre looking eyes and flamboyant colours. This created a very powerful and strong visual effect for the viewers. The literary effect of Zhang Xiaotao¡¯s works is conveyed through his unique style of painting. He uses rotten food or animals to record his feelings towards life.
Chen Wenbo pays very detailed attention to things around him. He uses delicate yet simplistic colours to portray an object or a scene. Zhao Nengzhi has continuously been using the style and forms that he believed in to rouse visual discomfort, however, behind this is another level of in depth thoughts and metaphors. Shen Xiaotong catches our attentions every now and then, but sometimes one can not help but wonder: if his paintings are a journey of searching, why does he always paint the background blue and the skin so yellow? Shi Xinning often toys with time; he merges reality with virtual world, past memories with the present. These ¡®photographs¡¯ all possess both real life events and something made up. The irony of some and the humour of some often create an effect that puts a smile on our faces. In comparing to Shi Xinning, Mao Tongqiang¡¯s works show a totally different idea to show reality and dream. He always employed dazzling colours and luxurious styles but at the same time, the painting also possessed the feel of loneliness.
